Arrivings: Web-based residency March 2010 – July 2011.

Arrivings is a web-based residency that began in March 2010 at the McLean Museum and Art Gallery, Scotland and the Western Australian Maritime Museum.
The web-residency involved research into the respective maritime histories, social histories and related elements of diaspora using archival and contemporary imagery to construct new visual narratives. The artwork detailing our progress is available for viewing on this website via both the blog and the monthly archives listed in the index.
The inaugural showing of work from the Arrivings project, entitled ...from a passenger list, was an interactive exhibition shown at Fremantle Arts Centre, W.A. (21 May – 17 July). In conjunction to the exhibition the Arrivings website displays the development of our collaboration with the McLean Museum and Maritime History Department, W.A. Museum. What became significant for the inaugural exhibition of the work was developing ways for the audience to interact with our constructed images. These interactions are displayed on the Arrivings website, which documents …from a passenger list.
You can interact with the Arrivings website by making a comment – this can be done in a number of ways:
